I don't have any known relatives in this area, so didn't go inside to check out their records as I often do. But I do also love the insides of courthouses. In my experience, the older the building, the more likely the staff is to let you go into the vault and browse their old record books--a favority pasttime.

Trolling courthouses... not a bad hobby to have. :-)

ReplyDeleteOoh! A trip to Minnesota. Was this a genealogy trip by any chance? I have ancestors from there.
What a great idea to include courthouses in your genealogy journeys!
Welcome to Geneabloggers, Ginny! You will truly find a wonderful community of supporters with the group.
ReplyDeleteI, too, love courthouses! I've been in practically every one in W. TN. (Probably not really, but it certainly feels like it sometimes.) As beautiful as they all are, I never thought about photographing them. Now, I'll have to go back to each one and do that! LOL
Thanks for sharing...
Welcome to Geneabloggers.
ReplyDeleteI have found courthouse a little intimidating for me. I usually get lost of overshelmed.

I also find courthouses beautiful. I also love the look and feel of the typical square around the courthouse. The family businesses and local color are fun to explore.
